Dussehra is the main festival of Hinduism. According to religious belief, this festival is celebrated as the victory of good over evil and victory of truth over untruth. Every year this festival is celebrated on the Dashami date of Ashwin month Shukla Paksha. According to Hindu religious belief, Dussehra festival is celebrated for two reasons. The Devi Mahatmya or Devi Mahatmyam or "The Glory of the Goddess" is a Hindu religious text describing the Goddess as the supreme power and creator of the universe. It is part of the Markandeya Purana. Devi Mahatmyam is also known as the “Durgā Saptashatī”. The text arranged into 13 chapters. It is one of the most important texts of Shaktism tradition within Hinduism.  The nine-day festival of Sharad Navratri 2020 started today and is being celebrated across the country with full fervour and enthusiasm. The Sharad Navratri 2020 will conclude on October 25 with Ram Navmi. The Sharad Navratri is dedicated to Goddess Durga, who killed the demon king Mahishasura.
