Sharad Navratri 2020 -5. Skandamata

The fifth form of Maa Durga is known as Skandamata. She was named Skanda Mata due to being the mother of Lord Skanda. Lord Skanda is also known as 'Kumar Karthikeya'. He was the commander of the gods in the famous Devasur-Sangram. In the Puranas, his glory is described as Kumar and Shaktidhar. Lord Skanda's vehicle is pecock. Therefore, He is also called as Mayur Vahana. 

Its color is completely white and rides on the lion. She is also known as Padmasana Devi, because she holds the seat of the lotus. The seeker moves towards a pure conscious form, after meditating on the mother,. The mind of the seeker is completely engrossed towards Padmasana Maa, then he is freed from all cosmic and worldly bonds. 

Along with the worship of Skandmata, the worship of Skanda God is also done on its own. Only this goddess has this specialty, so the seeker should pay special attention to the worship of Skandamata. Being the goddess presiding over the sun, their worshipers are endowed with supernatural aura. This supernatural halo is always a circular circumference. मां दुर्गा का पांचवा स्वरूप स्कंदमाता के नाम से प्रख्यात है। भगवन स्कन्द की माता होने के कारण ही इनका नाम स्कन्द माता पड़ा। भगवान स्कंद को 'कुमार कार्तिकेय' के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। प्रसिद्ध देवासुर-संग्राम में देवताओं के सेनापति बनाए गए थे, पुराणों में, उनकी महिमा कुमार और शक्तिधर के रूप में वर्णित है। भगवान स्कंद का वाहन मयूर है। इसलिए, उन्हें मयूर वाहनी भी कहा जाता है। 

इनका रंग पूरी तरह से सफेद है और शेर पर सवार है। उन्हें पद्मासना देवी के नाम से भी जाना जाता है, क्योंकि वह कमल का आसन रखती है। माँ का ध्यान करने पर साधक शुद्ध चेतन रूप की ओर अग्रसर होता है। साधक का मन पूरी तरह से पद्मासन मां की ओर आसक्त होता है, तब वह सभी लौकिक और सांसारिक बंधनों से मुक्त हो जाता है। 

स्कंदमाता की पूजा के साथ-साथ स्कंद भगवान की पूजा भी अपने आप ही की जाती है। केवल इस देवी की यह विशेषता है, इसलिए साधक को स्कंदमाता की पूजा पर विशेष ध्यान देना चाहिए। सूर्य की अध्यक्षता करने वाली देवी होने के कारण, उनके उपासक अलौकिक आभा से संपन्न हैं। यह अलौकिक प्रभामंडल हमेशा एक गोलाकार परिधि है। इसलिए हमें एकाग्रता के साथ मन को शुद्ध रखकर मां की शरण में आने का प्रयास करना चाहिए।

Once a man was on his way to a business. Along the way there were watermelon crops on both sides. Seeing the big watermelon on the small vine, he cursed God, 'Oh God, you have no pity, put such a big watermelon in this little vine, you must have thought something and moved on.  For a long while he was walking on the way and there was plenty of thirst, it was noon. He thought he would take some rest after drinking the water, then move on. A little away he saw a well, went to the well, drank water and there was a big neem tree nearby, made up his mind to rest in its shadow. Sharad Navratri 2020 -6. Katyayani

Today is day 6 of the auspicious nine days of Navratri which is dedicated to goddess Katyayani. Navratri celebrates the nine avatars of the goddess Durga and each day is dedicated to one avatar. Since there are different avatars of the goddess, each of them signify a particular colour too. Devi Katyayani is the daughter of sage Katyayan, and got her name from her father.   This Goddesses has four hands, she has a sword in one hand, a lotus in the other hand. She has one right hand in fearless form and the other in boon posture. She rides a lion. She is revered as the presiding deity of Vrajamandal. Their forms are very grand and divine. Their colors are shiny and phosphor like gold.  Maa Katyayani is considered particularly important for unmarried girls. The girls, whose marriages are delayed or have trouble in marriage, worship the mother Katyayani's quadrilateral form to get rid of their trouble.
